The Fight for Fair Food: How farmworkers are winning the struggle for justice in the fields

Join faith organizer Elena Stein of The Alliance for Fair Food and farmworker and organizer Julia de la Cruz of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) to learn about what the Washington Post has called “one of the great human rights success stories of our day." Examine how creative, powerful organizing was born out of the context of dire poverty and egregious conditions in a dusty farmworker town in Southwest Florida called Immokalee. Two decades later, the Campaign for Fair Food has won agreements with 13 major food retailers, paving the way to the CIW's Fair Food Program and a transformation of human rights in Florida’s tomato fields. Join us and consider the importance of those in poverty leading their own struggles for liberation. Learn how you or your organization can help expand what workers are calling “the new day dawning in the fields."
